"We focused on 'celebrating the trade' for this anniversary as trading is at the heart of what we do," said Steven Miller, Project Manager for Disney Trading. "During the past ten years, we've learned that Guests visiting Disney Parks love meeting others, trading an amazing variety of Disney pins and adding unique pins to their collections. This celebration will give Guests the opportunity to do all three things all year long."

Keeping with the tenth theme, here are ten things you should not miss:

Disney's Pin Traders - Disney's Pin Traders is the official headquarters for the Tenth Anniversary celebration on each coast. Located in the Downtown Disney® Areas at Walt Disney World® and Disneyland® Resorts, these homes to all things related to Disney pins are the best place to find Tenth Anniversary related merchandise as well as a huge selection of other Disney pins and accessories.

KEY DATES:
October 1, 2009 - Start the Tenth Anniversary of Disney Pin Trading with a day full of pin trading activities on October 1, 2009. The morning will see a pin release party at Disney's Pin Traders in the Downtown Disney® Marketplace where a specially designed, limited edition 50 Marcasite pin will be released. A similar Marcasite pin will be released at Disney's Pin Traders at the Disneyland® Resort on the same morning. Both pins will be a must have for the savvy Disney pin collector.

That morning, Guests should also visit Pin Central at Epcot®, the birthplace of Disney Pin Trading during the Millennium Celebration, for the release of a commemorative limited edition pin.

The day concludes at Walt Disney World® Resort with a special Disney Trading Activity from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Disney's Contemporary Resort in the Ballroom of the Americas. Meet other collectors, trade pins and share Disney magic in a fun, surprise-filled setting that is open to Guests of all ages.

February 17, 2010 - The Disneyland® Resort celebrates its official Tenth Anniversary of Disney Pin Trading on February 17, 2010. Join us for a commemorative pin release at Disney's Pin Traders at both Resorts.

10/10/10 - Prepare for a day full of fun, friendship and trading as the next decade of Disney Trading launches on October 10, 2010. Guests will enjoy 10 hours of Disney Trading as well as the opportunity to purchase pins designed especially for this numerically perfect day. Stay tuned to DisneyPins.com for the official details.

UNIQUE DISNEY PINS:
Tribute Collection - Pay tribute to famous Disney pin designs with the "Tribute Collection." These over-sized pins feature stylized artwork based on popular, frequently traded or highly desired pins from the past 10 years of Disney Pin Trading. A unique collection will be released on each coast throughout the celebration.

Limited Edition 100s - Like the collection name implies, each pin in this soon-to-be-desired collection will have an edition size of 100. Two unique collections were created - one for Florida and one for California. From January to October 2010, a new pin will be released on the 10th of each month at Disney's Pin Traders.

The Chasers - "Do you have any chasers?" It's the question that everyone will be asking while trying to complete their pin collections in 2010. Several new mystery chaser collections will be released this coming year, including a specially designed Tenth Anniversary collection. The Tenth Anniversary mystery collection, releasing in January 2010, will have special pins only available for trade with Disney Cast Members. Let the chase begin!

EVENTS:
Monthly Disney Trading Activities - Each month at select Disney Resorts on each coast, Guests of all ages are invited to make friends, trade pins and share Disney magic during Disney Trading Activities. These trading activities are free and open to all Guests. As part of the Tenth Anniversary celebration, a commemorative Pin Trading Night pin collection featuring Mickey Mouse will be released for each trading activity. Dateline: Disneyland 1955 - Disney Summer Pin Festival 2010 - Disney Pin Trading joins the festive celebration for the 55th Anniversary of the Disneyland® Resort with the return of the Disney Summer Pin Festival - Dateline: Disneyland 1955. Celebrating this milestone anniversary, the festival will run for 55 days - from June 12 to August 5, 2010. Guests will return to the grand opening of the Happiest Place on Earth in 1955 with a collection of nostalgic Disney pins and items. Trade City, U.S.A. - Disney Pin Celebration 2010 - New and long time traders are invited to a 10th Anniversary "Founders Day" celebration for Trade City, U.S.A. during Disney Pin Celebration 2010 from August 27-29, 2010 in World Showplace at Epcot®. Guests will find themselves immersed in Trade City, an eclectic town nestled in Trading Valley that is home to the world's longest lanyard and the world's biggest ear hat. Guests attending this ticketed Disney Pin Event will enjoy fun trading activities, the opportunity to purchase specially designed pins, and meet Disney pin traders from around the world.
